My story

Welcome! I would like to tell you more about who I am. I am Mariska, proud owner of Kattenpension Kyaros since 2011.

Kyaros is named after my 2 cats Kyara and Rosso. Meanwhile, Beer has also been added. I live in Krimpen aan de Lek with my husband, child and 3 cats. We have the luxury of being able to make the cattery at our house.

I have been working in the animal world since 2010. In that year I started as a volunteer at the local animal shelter. There I was able to discover my passion. In 2011 I took the plunge and opened my own cattery! In the meantime I have been able to gain many years of experience in taking care of cats and I still enjoy this every day.

In order to take good care of the cats, I obtained my Dogs and Cats Decree, did an internship at a vet, worked as a volunteer at the animal shelter, active as a host family for orphaned kittens and pregnant mother cats and followed various courses about cats in general, coat care for cats. , cat welfare and behavior.

In addition to taking care of cats, we also trim cats. In our grooming salon we take care of the cat fur of cats that need some extra help.

In 2019 we became an Approved Learning Company and I can therefore also guide students towards a job in the animal world.
